Car Wreck Closes Busy Atlanta Street

A sports utility vehicle struck a pole on West Marietta Street near downtown Atlanta at approximately 4:00 am this morning, causing the closure of the busy road during morning rush hour while crews repaired the downed utility pole. The road has now been reopened.
Witnesses report that the driver and passenger in the sport utility vehicle that struck the pole abandoned their vehicle and fled the scene.

If you have any information regarding the identity or whereabouts of these individuals, please contact the City of Atlanta Police Department.
